According to the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, with the addenda to the law on Medical Aid and Service of the Population it is proposed to set the order of the choice of the primary care physician (PCP) (family doctor, therapist, pediatrician), the registration of the population at the doctor and getting out of the registration, changing the PCP.

It was noted that the authority of approving the reference numbers of population being served by the specialists of primary care, narrow and dispensary services will be reserved to the authorized body of the state administration of the health sphere.

As the Minister of Health assured, the powers of setting the order and terms of approving the list of the medical aid and services with the use of the newest and expensive technologies, as well as providing information for statistics management of the mother and child mortality cases and implementing monitoring will also be reserved to the authorized body.

“We set important powers in several directions,” the Minister of Health said.

Anahit Avanesyan noted that, as a result of the adoption of the draft it is expected to ensure the implementation of the assignment of the Prime Minister of November 2021.

As a result of debate, the bill was endorsed.

The bill on Making Addenda to the Law on Medical Aid and Service of the Population was debated at the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care on November 30.

The draft law will be debated at the upcoming NA regular sitting with 24-hour regime.
